Abstract:
(EN) Liquid is impelled along a liquid duct (1) by pressurised gas supplied from a gas duct (9), for example exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine. The gas pressure builds up in the duct (9) until it reaches a value sufficient to open a valve (18) against the tension of the spring (14). The gas released by the valve expands into a space (21) separated from the liquid by a flexible tubular partition (6). The expanding gas causes a wave like movement in the partition which drives liquid along the duct (1). When the gas pressure falls, the valve closes, and a further charge of liquid is drawn into the inlet to the duct. The partition may extend along the full length of the duct (1) which may have a separate gas outlet to prevent the gases mixing with the liquid.
(FR) Un liquide est poussé le long d'une conduite de liquide (1) par un gaz sous pression provenant d'une conduite de gaz (9), par exemple des gaz d'échappement sortant d'un moteur à combustion interne. La pression du gaz monte dans la conduite (9) jusqu'à ce qu'elle atteigne une valeur suffisante pour ouvrir une vanne (18) en réponse à la tension du ressort (14).
