Abstract:
(EN) A method for the physical separation of aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles from commercial wheat bran, which method comprises removing from a fraction of aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa articles within the sieve mesh range of larger than about 130$g(m)m and smaller than about 290$g(m)m, obtained from commercial wheat bran by subjecting the bran to hammer-milling whereby the bran is broken and reduced into particles which consist predominantly of pericarp-testa particles and aleurone cell particles and then sized to said sieve mesh range, a fraction of particles which are smaller than about 40$g(m)m and electrostatically charging the remaining aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles, then passing said electrostatically charged remaining aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles through an electrical field generated by an electrostatic separator, whereby the rermaining aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles are fractionated by the differential of their electrical charges. Removal of said fraction of particles which are smaller than about 40$g(m)m and the electrostatic charging of the remaining aleurone cell particles and pericarp-testa particles is preferably effected by air elutriation of the mixture of said particles and which induces triboelectrification of said particles. Apparatus comprising an air elutriator with associated electrostatic separator is also provided for the purpose.
(FR) Procédé de séparation physique de particules de cellules d'aleurones et de particules de tests de péricarpes à partir de son de blé commercial, comportant le retrait d'une fraction de particules de cellules d'aleurones et de particules de tests de péricarpes dont la maille de tamis est supérieure à environ 130 $g(m)m et inférieure à environ 290 $g(m)m, obtenue à partir de son de blé commercial en soumettant le son à un broyage par marteau où le son est brisé et réduit en particules consistant essentiellement en particules de tests de péricarpes et en particules de cellules d'aleurones avant d'être calibrée audit ordre de grandeur de la maille de tamis, une fraction de particules inférieures à environ 40 $g(m)m et chargeant de manière électrostatique les particules de tests de péricarpes et les particules de cellules d'aleurones restantes, puis en faisant passer lesdites particules de tests de péricarpes et les particules de cellules d'aleurones restantes électrostatiquement chargées à travers un champ électrique créé par un séparateur électrostatique, grâce auquel les particules de tests de péricarpes et les particules de cellules d'aleurones restantes sont fractionnées par le différentiel de leurs charges électriques. Le retrait de ladite fraction de particules inférieures à environ 40 $g(m)m et la charge électrostatique des particules de tests de péricarpes et des particules de cellules d'aleurones restantes est effectué de préférence par élution par air du mélange desdites particules et induit la triboélectrification desdites particules. Est également décrit un appareil comportant un dispositif d'élution par air associé à un séparateur électrostatique.
