Abstract

A disc type of information storage and retrieval system (300). Generally disk systems of this type are relatively complex and therefore costly items. In order to produce a relatively inexpensive yet reliable disk system the disclosed system utilizes a cartridge type of information storage disc arrangement (302) including a rotating disc (304) and its own bearing pin (138) about which the disc rotates and an information retrieval arrangement (314) including means for supporting the disc arrangement in an operating position. The disc arrangement and the information retrieval arrangement include cooperating means for moving a read head forming part of the retrieval arrangement in one direction along a straight line path in response to the clockwise rotation of the rotating disc. The overall assembly includes other features as well.

Système de stockage et d'extraction d'informations du type à disque (300). Les systèmes à disques de ce type sont généralement relativement complexes et donc coûteux. Afin de réaliser un système à disques relativement économique mais fiable, le système ci-décrit utilise un agencement à disque de stockage d'informations du type à cartouche (302), comprenant un disque rotatif (304) et son propre axe de palier (138) autour duquel le disque tourne, ainsi qu'un agencement d'extraction d'informations (314) comprenant un organe de support de l'agencement de disque dans une position de fonctionnement.
