Abstract

A pressure switch having mechanical and solid state components. The switch includes mechanical components that are arranged so the mechanical components provide the electrical connections between a motor and an electric source for the motor. The mechanical components include a fluid pressure responsive mechanism which causes contacts of the switch to move with a snap action in response to pressure variations in a fluid system. The solid state components detect variations in the motor current, voltage and power factor as well as the duration of the intervals during which the motor is energized and interrupts or prevents energization of the motor when at least one of the variations exceeds a preprogrammed value. The switch includes a calibration switch which programs the switch operation for use with the particular motor controlled by the switch and coded diodes that function to indicate the cause of a malfunction detected by the switch.

Un automate manométrique ayant des composants mécaniques et à l'état solide comporte des composants mécaniques disposés de manière à établir des connections électriques entre un moteur et une source électrique alimentant le moteur. Les composants mécaniques comprennent un mécanisme sensible à la pression d'un fluide qui fait déplacer les contacts de l'automate par une action à déclic en réponse à des variations de pression se produisant dans un système de fluide. Les composants à l'état solide détectent des variations d'intensité du courant, de la tension et du facteur de puissance du moteur ainsi que la durée des intervalles pendant lesquels le moteur est mis sous tension et ils interrompent ou empêchent la mise sous tension du moteur lorsqu'au moins l'une des variations dépasse une valeur préprogrammée. L'automate comprend un commutateur de calibrage qui programme le fonctionnement de l'automate utilisé avec le moteur en question commandé par l'automate et des diodes codées qui indiquent la cause d'une défaillance détectée par l'automate.
