Abstract
(EN)
An integrated optical circuit with a ridged optical waveguide has improved light-transmitting characteristics. In order to reduce light transmission losses produced by irregularities in the side surfaces of ridges (3-1, 3-2) constituting the ridged optical waveguide, the ridges (3-1, 3-2) and an optical waveguide layer (2) are coated with a hardened film (8) of a heat-resistant, high-molecular resin such as polymideisoindoloquinazolinedione (PII). The thickness of the heat-resistant, high-molecular resin film (8) should be selected to be a suitable value between 200 and 1,000 nm, in consideration of the application of the electrical and magnetic fields for operating the circuit.

Un circuit optique intégré pourvu d'un guide d'ondes optiques à arêtes présente des caractéristiques améliorées de transmission de lumière afin de réduire les pertes de transmission lumineuse produites par les irrégularités dans les surfaces latérales des arêtes (3-1, 3-2) constituant le guide d'ondes optiques à arêtes, les arêtes (3-1, 3-2) et une couche de guide d'ondes optiques (2) sont recouvertes d'un film durci (8) en une résine thermorésistante et de poids moléculaire élevé telle que du polymide-isoindoloquinazolinedione (PII). L'épaisseur du film thermorésistant de poids moléculaire élevé (8) devrait être sélectionnée de manière à être comprise entre 200 et 1 000 nm, en tenant compte de l'application des champs électriques et magnétiques pour le fonctionnement du circuit.
