Abstract

A safety shackle/line combination in which the shackle comprises a body (1) including a depending leg (9), a closure member or tongue (10) pivotted to the leg (9) through a pivot pin (11), said tongue being formed with a latching bore (14) into which a detent (15) is inserted to maintain the tongue (10) in its closed position, spring biasing means (17) for biasing the detent (15) into engagement with the bore (14), a releasing pin (18) attached to the detent (15) and having a connecting loop (21) at its upper end to which a remote release line (20) is securely attached. The release line (20) is in the form of a Bowden cable (22) which is enclosed within a flexible tube (24) which is in turn enclosed within a webbing tube (7) constituting the line L connected to the shackle by means of a connecting portion (2). A ring (26) is secured to the remote end of the line (20) adjacent the connection (25) to the wearer. In another embodiment, the line is constituted by a specially formed rope (25) within which the remote release line (20'') is enclosed within a flexible tube (30). To compensate for stretching of the line L, the ring (26) may be enclosed within a plastic pouch (35) within which it is free to move as the line L stretches. The pouch (35) is formed with a weakening line (36) along which the pouch may be easily torn to gain access to the ring (26) when the release line (20) is to be actuated.

Dans un autre mode de réalisation, le câble est constitué par une corde formée spécialement (25) à l'intérieur de laquelle le câble à libération à distance (20'') est enfermé dans un tube flexible (30). Afin de compenser l'étirement du câble L, l'anneau (26) peut être enfermé dans une poche en plastique (35) à l'intérieur de laquelle il peut se déplacer lorsque le câble L s'étire. La poche (35) comporte une ligne d'amincissement (36) le long de laquelle la poche peut être aisément déchirée pour permettre d'atteindre l'anneau (26) lorsqu'il est nécessaire d'actionner le câble de libération (20).
