Extruded reinforced hoses are useful in fluid systems which operate at high pressures. Other reinforced hoses are prepared in individual stations for particular parts of the reinforced hose consequently requiring large amounts of manufacturing floor space. Still other processes require extruding a hose on a mandrel and subsequently applying a fabric reinforcement member. In these processes, the length of the hose is limited by the length of the mandrel. The present apparatus produces an extruded reinforced hose (10) by braiding a metal reinforcement member (16) on a mandrel (42) and extruding a liner (21) and cover (22) at approximately the same location as the member (16) leaves the mandrel (42). The formed hose (10) is pulled at a linear rate faster than the hose (10) is being produced in order to change the braid angle of the braided member (16) to a predetermined selected braid angle and holding for subsequent curing. The metal braided reinforcement member (16) provides the high strength characteristic while the extruding of the liner (21) and the cover (22) at approximately the same location near the mandrel (42) eliminates the need for separate lengthy mandrels on which to extrude the hose (10), thus minimizing manufacturing floor space and reducing costs.

Des tuyaux extrudés renforcés sont utiles dans des systèmes utilisant des fluides à haute pression. D'autres tuyaux renforcés sont préparés dans des stations individuelles pour la manufacture de parties particulières du tuyau renforcé, occupant ainsi une surface au sol importante. Dans d'autres procédés il est nécessaire d'extruder un tuyau sur un mandrin et d'appliquer successivement un organe de renforcement en tissu. Dans ces procédés, la longueur du tuyau est limitée par la longueur du mandrin. Le dispositif ci-décrit produit un tuyau extrudé renforcé (10) en tressant un organe de renforcement en métal (16) sur une mandrin (42) et en extrudant un revêtement (21) et une couverture (22) approximativement au même emplacement où l'organe (16) quitte le mandrin (42). Le tuyau ainsi formé (10) est tiré à une vitesse linéaire plus élevée que la vitesse de production du tuyau (10) afin de modifier l'angle de tressage de l'organe tressé (16) pour obtenir un angle de tressage sélectionné prédéterminé et le maintenir pendant la vulcanisation successive. L'organe mécanique tressé de renforcement (16) permet d'obtenir des caractéristiques de résistance élevée, tandis que l'extrusion du revêtement interne (21) et de la couverture (22) approximativement au même emplacement à proximité du mandrin (42) élimine la nécessité d'utiliser des mandrins allongés séparés pour extruder le tuyau (10), permettant ainsi de réduire au minimum l'occupation au sol et de diminuer les coûts.
