Abstract

A bell-crank lever (24) is pivotally attached to a spindle head (10) in such a manner that it pushes down an upper end (18a) of a drawbar (18) for loading and unloading a tool, which is provided within a rotating spindle (14) received in the spindle head (10) of the machining center. An end portion of one of the arms of the lever (24) is arranged so that it can engage with a guide cam (28), and an end portion of the other arm is formed as a projecting spherical pressure end portion (24a) which is not connected mechanically to the upper end (18a) of the drawbar (18). The lever (24) is constantly urged toward the guide cam (28) by a spring means (32).
