Abstract

Each of the data words (D) is formed of a digital signal of a predetermined number of bits. A predetermined consecutive number of the data words (D) on a recording or transfer medium are combined to form a data block. When decoding a data signal provided with an error inspection symbol (P) in accordance with a sequence within a data block and another error inspection symbol (Q) in accordance with a sequence which is different from the sequence within the data block, all erroneous data words detected by the other error inspection symbol (Q) are judged to be erroneous. The method makes it possible to reliably detect any erroneous data word.

Chaque mot de données D est composé d'un signal numérique d'un nombre prédéterminé de bits. Un nombre prédéterminé consécutif de mots de données D sur un support d'enregistrement ou de transfert sont combinés pour former un bloc de données. En décodant un signal de données pourvu d'un symbole P d'inspection d'erreurs, relatif à une séquence à l'intérieur d'un bloc de données, et d'un autre symbole Q d'inspection d'erreurs, relatif à une séquence différente de la séquence à l'intérieur du bloc de données, tous les mots de données erronés détectés par l'autre symbole Q d'inspection d'erreurs sont jugés comme étant erronés. Ce procédé permet de détecter de manière fiable tout mot de données erroné.
