Abstract
(EN)
A chromatograph column (10) for effecting chromatographic separation of at least two components of a sample flowing through the column. The column comprises a housing (14) and at least one solid stationary phase (12) within the housing. The stationary phase has chromatographic functionality and is effective for chromatographic separation. Means are provided for radially distributing the sample through the stationary phase and for collecting the sample after the sample has flowed through the stationary phase. The stationary phase comprises: (a) a swellable fibrous matrix (18) in sheet form having chromatographic functionality and being effective for chromatographic separation, spirally wound around the longitudinal axis of the solid stationary phase to form a plurality of layers around the axis; and (b) a spacer means (22) between each layer for permitting controlled swelling thereof and enhancing the distribution of a sample flowing radially through the stationary phase. The solid stationary phase may be fabricated into a disposable cartridge for placement in the housing. A plurality of cartridges may be used in either series or parallel flow configuration in a single housing.

La colonne comporte un boîtier (14) et au moins une phase stationnaire solide (12) à l'intérieur du boîtier. La phase stationnaire possède une fonction chromatographique et sert à effectuer la séparation chromatographique. Des mécanismes sont prévus pour répartir radialement l'échantillon dans la phase stationnaire et pour recueillir l'échantillon après traversée de la phase stationnaire. La phase stationnaire comporte (a) une matrice fibreuse gonflable (18) en forme de feuille, dotée d'une fonction chromatographique et servant à effectuer une séparation chromatographique, enroulée en spirale autour de l'axe longitudinal de la phase stationnaire solide pour former une pluralité de couches autour de cet axe, et (b) un dispositif d'espacement (22) entre chaque couche pour leur permettre un gonflement régulé et pour améliorer la répartition de l'échantillon traversant radialement la phase stationnaire. La phase stationnaire solide peut être montée dans une cartouche jetable afin d'être placée dans le boîtier. Une pluralité de cartouches peuvent être utilisées dans une configuration à écoulement parallèle ou en série à l'intérieur d'un seul boîtier.
