Abstract

A laser surgical system for use in the operating room is suspended on the ceiling and can be moved horizontally in an X-Y direction. The system has the laser tubes, power supplies and cooling unit in the suspended assembly (15). A carbon dioxide laser (203) for cutting and a neodymium YAG laser for coagulation excite a common optical channel. A third laser argon, or other wavelength, can be added to the system. The common optical channel (13) couples the laser beams to an articulate arm (110) delivery system, or a microscope micromanipulator delivery system or fiberoptics delivery system (108). The microscopic micromanipulator delivery system is motorized so it can be easily moved in any direction. This motorized system is also compatible with a microprocessor for automated surgery. The system also has a built-in digital television system (119, 120) for demonstration, recording or as a robotic eye for association with a computer that may help control the laser surgery.

Un système chirurgical au laser destiné à être utilisé dans la salle d'opération est suspendu au plafond et peut être déplacé horizontalement selon une direction X-Y. Le canal optique commun (13) relie les rayons laser à un système de distribution à bras articulé (110), un système de distribution par micromanipulateur microscopique ou un système de distribution par fibres optiques (108). Le système de distribution par micromanipulateur microscopique est doté d'un moteur de manière à pouvoir être facilement déplacé dans toutes les directions.
