Abstract:
(EN) Procedure and means by which the degree of cross-linking of primarily PEX plastic can be measured when manufacturing cable insulation or piping of polyethylene plastic. It has been observed in the invention that the intensity of the fluorescence (15) of PEX plastic increases as a function of the degree of cross-linking. The means comprises a laser (10) for focussing a modulated laser light beam (14) producing fluorescence on the sample (13), and an electronic light detector (16) for detecting the fluorescent radiation (15) produced by the sample (13). In front of the light detector (16) is placed a filter (17) absorbing the exciting light, whereby the electronic signal from the light detector (16), which is proportional to the degree of cross-linking, may be carried to requisite electronic amplifiers (18) and other signal processing systems (19, 20) to output the degree of cross-linking of the sample (13). The means of the invention is suitable for on-line measurement in an extrusion machine.
(FR) Procédé et moyen permettant de mesurer le degré de réticulation d"un plastique PEX essentiellement, lors de la fabrication de tubages ou d"isolations de câbles en matériau plastique de polyéthylène. L"invention a permi d"observer que l"intensité de fluorescence (15) du plastique PEX augmente en fonction du degré de réticulation. Les moyens comprennent un laser (10) de focalisation d"un rayon lumineux laser modulé (14) produisant une fluorescence sur l"échantillon (13), et un détecteur électronique de lumière (16) permettant de détecter la radiation fluorescente (15) produite par l"échantillon (13). Au devant du détecteur de lumière (16) un filtre (17) est placé pour absorber la lumière d"excitation, de manière à amener le signal électronique provenant du détecteur de lumière (16), lequel signal est proportionnel au degré de réticulation, aux amplificateurs électroniques (18) et autres systèmes de traitement de signaux (19, 20) pour obtenir le degré de réticulation de l"échantillon (13). Les moyens de l"invention sont appropriés pour effectuer une mesure en ligne dans une machine à extrusion.
