(EN)A process for preparing triarylmethane compounds, which comprises reacting a benzene or naphthalene compound with a formylating agent in the presence of an acidic catalyst, adding water to the reaction mixture without isolating the produced aromatic aldehyde compound from the reaction mixture to thereby hydrolyze the acid catalyst, and subjecting the aromatic aldehyde compound and an aromatic compound to a condensation reaction in the thus-obtained mixture.
(FR)Procédé de préparation de composés de triarylméthane, consistant à faire réagir un composé de benzène ou de naphthalène avec un agent de formylation en présence d'un catalyseur acide, à ajouter de l'eau au mélange de réaction sans isoler le composé d'aldéhyde aromatique produit du mélange de réaction de manière à hydrolyser le catalyseur acide, et en soumettant le composé d'aldéhyde aromatique et un composé aromatique à une réaction de condensation dans le mélange ainsi obtenu.
