Abstract:
(EN) A regulator circuit (10) which provides voltage regulation for a normal power supply and which is associated with a back-up battery. A first portion (26) of the regulator circuit (10) detects when the battery is about to go into a deep discharge condition (when operated in the battery back-up mode) and a second portion (34) of the circuit is used to regulate the output voltage to a load. When the first portion (26) of the circuit detects the deep discharge condition it disconnects the load and the second portion (34) of the circuit from the battery. The first portion of the circuit draws a very small current, and the regulator circuit can remain in this partially active condition for a prolonged period without risk of the battery being drained to its deep discharge condition (which might necessitate replacement of the battery).
(FR) Un circuit régulateur (10) assure la régulation de la tension pour une alimentation en énergie électrique normale, ce circuit étant associé à une batterie auxiliaire. Une première partie (26) du circuit régulateur (10) détecte le moment où la batterie est sur le point d'entrer dans des conditions de décharge profonde (en fonctionnement dans le mode d'utilisation de la batterie auxiliaire) et une seconde partie (34) du circuit est utilisée pour régler la tension de sortie sur une charge. Lorsque la première partie (26) du circuit détecte la condition de décharge profonde, elle déconnecte la charge et la seconde partie (34) du circuit de la batterie. La première partie du circuit tire un très petit courant, et le circuit régulateur peut rester dans cette position partiellement active pendant une période de temps prolongée sans risquer de vider la batterie et de l'amener dans des conditions de décharge profonde (qui pourraient demander le changement de la batterie).
