Abstract:
A process for producing superplastic aluminum alloy plate, which comprises continuously casting and rolling a molten aluminum alloy containing 4.0 to 6.0 wt % of magnesium, 0.4 to 1.5 wt % of manganese, 0.05 to 0.2 wt % of chromium, and less than 0.50 wt % of silicon into a 3- to 20-mm thick strip, subjecting it to an annealing treatment at 420 to 530oC, then to preceding cold rolling and intermediate annealing, and succeeding cold rolling to a rolling ratio of 60 % or above.
