Abstract
(EN) In order to protect electric household appliances or their users against dangerous overvoltages caused by load variations in the network or by atmospheric discharges (lightning), a shunt element (3) field with gas and a zinc oxide varistor (4) are arranged in the casing (2) of the current connecting plug formed as an intermediary or adaptor plug, between the alveoli (1) of the plug on the appliance side, and mounted in parallel, so as to shortcircuit the connection terminals or connected between those terminals and the hearth lead. This protection assembly (3, 4) is connected on one hand directly, and on the other hand through a fuse (6) to the network connection pins (5), so as to prevent by supressing overvoltages a brake down in the network and consequently the triggering of the braker for protecting the installation against current faults.
(FR) Afin de protéger les appareils électroménagers ou leurs utilisateurs contre les surtensions dangereuses provoquées par des variations de charge dans le réseau ou par des décharges atmosphériques (foudre), un élément de dérivation (3) rempli de gaz et un varistor à l'oxyde de zinc (4) sont disposés dans le boîtier (2) de la fiche de prise de courant en forme de fiche intermédiaire ou d'adaptateur, entre les alvéoles (1) de la fiche du côté appareil, et montés en parallèle, afin de court-circuiter les bornes de connexion ou reliés entre celles-ci et le conducteur de terre. Cet ensemble de protection (3, 4) est connecté, d'une part directement, d'autre part par l'intermédiaire d'un fusible (6) aux broches (5) de connexion au réseau, afin d'empêcher par la suppression des surtensions un claquage dans le réseau et par la suite le déclenchement du disjoncteur de protection à courant de défaut de l'installation.
