(EN)Internal combustion engine with at least one combustion chamber produced within a cylinder head or similar device, it being possible to feed a fuel-and-air mixture into the said combustion chamber through two inlet valves arranged in the cylinder head and to discharge from the said combustion chamber exhaust gases through two exhaust valves arranged in the cylinder head, with the invention also relating to a method of producing such a combustion chamber by means of a casting process. The invention is characterised in that the combustion chamber (1) consists of four cavities (4, 5, 6, 7) distributed in quadrants within a circular plane forming part of base plane (8) of cylinder head (2), in that each individual cavity (4-7) has a shape which is in the main rotationally symmetrical and in that the cavities (4-7) overlap one another, whereby arc-shaped transitions are formed between cavities (4-7) in base plane (8).
(FR)Moteur a combustion interne avec au moins une chambre de combustion dans une culasse ou autre, permettant l'alimentation en un melange combustible-air de cette chambre de combustion par l'intermediaire de deux soupapes d'admission disposees dans la culasse et d'evacuer les gaz d'echappement de cette chambre de combustion par l'intermediaire de deux soupapes d'echappement disposees dans la culasse, l'invention concernant aussi un procede de production d'une telle chambre de combustion par fonderie. L'invention se caracterise en ce que la chambre de combustion (1) consiste en quatre cavites (4, 5, 6, 7) distribuees en quadrants dans un plan circulaire faisant partie d'un plan de base (8) de la culasse (2), en ce que chaque cavite (4-7) possede une forme proportionnellement symetrique, et en ce que les cavites (4-7) se chevauchent, de sorte que des transitions en forme d'arc se forment entre les cavites (4-7) dans le plan de base (8).
