(EN)An overload clutch which includes a drive member and a driven member (16 and 18), which are coaxial and have concentric cylindrical surfaces (26 and 22) which form an annular chamber (28). One or more rollers (30) of elastomeric material are positioned in the chamber (28) with the rollers (30) in rolling contact with the concentric cylindrical surfaces (26 and 22). Teeth (32 and 34) project into the annular chamber (28) from both surfaces and engage the rollers (30) from diametrically opposite positions to transmit torque from the drive to the driven member. Excessive torque causes the rollers to compress between the two engaging teeth (32 and 34), the roller (30) passing between the teeth and allowing the drive member to rotate relative to the driven member.
