Abstract

A generally planar T-shaped separator (45) replaces the conventional separator in a diffusion transfer processor (10). The bar (46) of the T-shape projects forwardly in spaced parallel relation with respect to the forward side of a diffusion transfer processor with the stem (48) of the T-shape centrally projecting into the chemical bath of the processor. This permits register pin receiving end portions of a light sensitive negative sheet (60) and receiver sheet (62), disposed in superposed relation and respectively under and overlying the T-bar of the separator, to be registered together with pins (66) at their respective corner portions facing the processor. The two sheets, joined by the pins to maintain registration, are then moved through the processor while the stem of the separator maintains a spacing between the two sheets while in the chemical bath to allow the chemical bath to flow between the sheets for proper development.

Un separateur ayant une forme generale plane en T (45) remplace le separateur conventionnel d"un processeur de transfert de diffusion (10). La barre (46) du T se projette vers l"avant parallelement au cote avant d"un processeur de transfert de diffusion, la tige (48) du T se projetant au centre dans le bain chimique du processeur. Ceci permet a des pointes de registre ou reperage recevant les parties extremes d"une feuille negative sensible a la lumiere (60) et d"une feuille receptrice (62) disposee en relation superposee et respectivement sous et sur la barre du T du separateur, de coincider avec les pointes (66) aux coins respectifs regardant le processeur. Les deux feuilles jointes par les pointes pour conserver le registre, se deplacent ensuite au travers du processeur tandis que la tige du separateur maintient un espace entre les deux feuilles dans le bain chimique pour permettre au bain chimique de s"ecouler entre les feuilles pour obtenir un bon developpement.
