(EN)A device for irradiating objects with electron beams comprises an electron beam generator (1) which generates a strip-like beam (7) and a deviating electromagnet (8) provided with a loop-type magnetic circuit (9) and intended to direct the beam (7) on the irradiated object (6) at essentially right angles. The deviating electromagnet (8) has two poles (10, 11) their length covering the width of the irradiated object, and two windings (12, 13) embracing the poles (10, 11) and connected to a direct current source (14). The deviating electromagnet (8) is so oriented that the paths of the electrons between the generator (1) and the deviating electromagnet (8) are inclined in relation to the plane of the loop of its magnetic circuit.
