(EN)A method of making a dam including the steps of forming bared portions of cable conductors (4) of a communication cable (1) by stripping the sheath (3), covering them with a mold (5), injecting a self-curing resin (2) it into the mold (5), and curing it. In this method, a resin which foams as it cures is used as the self-curing resin (2), the resin (2) foams in the mold after being injected thereinto in an un-foamed state, and then the resin (2) is cured under the high-pressure condition caused by the fact that: when the resin (2) gets into among the conductors (4) in the sheath (3) due to its volume-expansion during foaming, the resistance against the fluidity of the resin (2) is increased with the progress of curing, so that the pressure of the resin (2) in the mold (5) is increased. Thus, it is possible to manufacture a highly airtight dam in a much shortened time and no, or a much simplified one if necessary, flow-stopper for the dam-resin is needed at the edge-portion of the sheath, so the productivity thereof is much improved.
(FR)Un procede de fabrication d"un barrage consiste a former des parties denudees de conducteur (4) d"un cable de communication (1) en depouillant la gaine (3), en les recouvrant d"un moule (5), en injectant une resine auto-polymerisable (2) dans le moule (5), et en la polymerisant. Dans ce procede, une resine qui mousse en meme temps qu"elle se polymerise est utilisee comme resine auto-polymerisable (2), laquelle mousse dans le moule apres avoir ete injectee dans celui-ci dans un etat non moussant, puis cette resine (2) est polymerisee dans des conditions de haute pression dues au fait que lorsque la resine (2) s"introduit entre les conducteurs (4) dans la gaine (3) a cause de son expansion en volume pendant le moussage, la resistance contre la fluidite de la resine (2) est augmentee au fur et a mesure de la polymerisation de telle sorte que la pression de la resine (2) dans le moule (5) augmente. Ainsi, il est possible de fabriquer un barrage extremement etanche a l"air dans un temps tres court et, aucun arret d"ecoulement n"est necessaire, ou un arret extremement simplifie, pour la resine du barrage a la bordure de la gaine, ameliorant ainsi la productivite.
