(EN)A sadalite photo- and/or cathode-chromium material is a transparent monolith with a homogeneous poly-crystalline structure having a density of more than 99% of the theoretical density of the sodalite of the corresponding chemical composition. The material is produced by hot moulding of the sodalite powder, obtained by any method, under conditions which would exclude intensive volatilazation of the alkaline halides and unwanted melting of the sodalite. The sensitive element of the thus produced material is shaped as a plate the thickness of which is chosen depending on the required recording sensibility of the radiation and the required contrast of the recorded image when the sensitive element is used in a translucent mode.
(FR)Un materiau a base de sodalite photo-et/ou cathode-chrome est un monolithe transparent possedant une structure polycristalline homogene dont la densite est superieure a 99% de la densite theorique de la sodalite de composition chimique correspondante. Le materiau est prepare par moulage a chaud de la sodalite pulverulente, obtenue par un procede quelconque, dans des conditions excluant la volatilisation intense des halogenures alcalins ainsi que la fusion indesirable de la sodalite. L"element sensible ainsi produit se presente sous la forme d"une feuille dont l"epaisseur est choisie selon la sensibilite d"enregistrement voulue et le contraste recherche pour l"image enregistree lorsque l"element sensible est utilise dans son mode translucide.
