Thermoplastic polyurethanes lack melt strength in blow molding resulting in extrudate dripping off the nozzle. Blends of 85-99% thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers and 1-15% neutralized ethylene (/carboxylic)-acrylic acid or methacrylic acid copolymers containing 1.5 to 30 weight percent acid with 10 to 100% neutralization with an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or zinc ion (which) are useful for blow molding applications, (are disclosed) under ordinary processing conditions. In an example 90 parts polyurethane was blended with 10 parts of a copolymer of 95% ethylene and 5% methacrylic acid, 100% neutralized with sodium ions.

Les polyurethanes thermoplastiques manquent de resistance de fusion dans le moulage par soufflage ce qui se traduit par un egouttement du produit d"extrusion au niveau de l"ajutage. Des melanges de 85-99% d"elastomeres de polyurethane thermoplastiques et de 1-15% de copolymeres d"acide methacrylique ou d"acide acrylique-(carboxylique)/ethylene neutralises contenant de 1,5 a 30% en poids d"acide avec neutralisation de 10 a 100% avec un metal alcalin, un metal alcalino-terreux ou un ion zinc sont utiles pour des applications de moulage par soufflage dans des conditions de traitement ordinaire. Dans un exemple, 90 parties de polyurethane ont ete melangees avec 10 parties d"un copolymere de 95% d"ethylene et de 5% d"acide methacrylique, neutralisees a 100% avec des ions sodium.
