Abstract

A fuel-air metering system functioning according to precise flow and geometrical equations. An air throttle valve (1) and fuel valve (12a) are positively linked with the flow cross-sectional area of each valve proportional to that of the other. Fuel pressure drop across the fuel valve is regulated in precise proportion to the pressure drop across the upstream orifice (5) of a two orifice in series (5, 7) air flow system which bypasses the air throttle. Careful shaping of the air throttle, the bypass system orifices, the fuel valve, passage geometry, and the servo valve fuel regulation system (13, 15) results in an accurate proportioning of fuel flow to air flow.

Un systeme de dosage d'un melange combustible/air fonctionne selon un ecoulement precis et des equations geometriques. Un papillon d'air (1) et une vanne de combustible (12a) sont en communication, la section du passage d'ecoulement de chacun de ces deux clapets etant proportionnelle a l'autre. Une chute de pression du combustible au niveau de la vanne de combustible est ajustee de maniere precise et proportionnellement a la chute de pression au niveau de l'orifice en amont (5) d'un systeme d'ecoulement d'air a deux orifices en serie (5, 7) qui bipasse le papillon d'air. La mise en forme soignee du papillon d'air, des orifices du systeme bipasse, de la vanne de combustible, de la geometrie du passage, et du systeme de reglage du combustible a servo-vanne (13-15) permet d'obtenir un melange precis de combustible et d'air.
