(EN)Nitrogen oxide pollutants are substantially reduced and sulfur dioxide minimized in multisolid fluidized beds by staged combustion of the fuel. The lower combustion region (1) is operated such that NOx is reduced by carbon and carbon monoxide to nitrogen gas. The upper combustion region (II) is operated at excess oxygen conditions to complete the combustion of char and carbon monoxide. Elevated temperature excursions in the upper region which deter sulfur capture are prevented by recycling cool entrained bed particles therethrough (6, 7).
(FR)Des substances polluantes d'oxyde d'azote sont sensiblement reduites et la quantite d'anhydride sulfureux est diminuee au minimum dans des lits fluidises multi solides par combustion etagee du combustible. La region de combustion inferieure (1) fonctionne de telle sorte que NOx soit reduit par le carbone et l'oxyde de carbone en azote gazeux. La region de combustion superieure (11) fonctionne dans des conditions d'exces d'oxygene pour terminer la combustion de l'oxyde de carbone. Des ecarts de temperature elevee dans la region superieure qui empeche la capture du soufre sont evitees en recyclant au travers de celles-ci (6, 7) des particules froides de lits entrainees.
