(EN)For the continuous reduction and melting of metal oxides or substantially prereduced metal materials a fuel is completely burnt in a crucible. The crucible (8) opens at its upper part to a tight and substantially horizontal supply conduit (7). The hot gases from the complete combustion in the crucible (8) are released through the conduit (7); immediately before the inlet into the conduit (7), carbon powder is added to the hot gases by means of a nozzle (15). The hot gases comprised substantially of CO2 and H2O are substantially transformed into CO and H2, and then cooled and finally counter current supplied and at 800 C towards the charge (10) which progresses in the conduit to be introduced into the crucible (8). When the gases at 800 C go through the charge (10), they transfer their heat to the charge. If the charge is composed of metal oxides, a substantial prereduction may be achieved in the conduit (7). By traversing the charge (10) the hot gases are cooled and released at temperatures higher than 100 C, preferably at about 150 C, to avoid water condensation in the charge.
(FR)Pour la reduction et la fonte en continu d"oxydes metalliques ou de materiaux metalliques largement prereduits, on brule completement un combustible dans un creuset. Le creuset (8) s"ouvre a sa partie superieure vers un conduit d"alimentation (7) etanche et essentiellement horizontal. Les gaz chauds provenant de la combustion complete dans le creuset (8) s"echappent par le conduit (7); immediatement avant l"entree dans le conduit (7), on ajoute aux gaz chauds de la poudre de charbon au moyen d"une buse (15). Les gaz chauds composes principalement de CO2 et de H2O sont transformes principalement en CO et H2O, ensuite refroidis et finalement conduits a contre-courant et a 800 C vers la charge (10) qui avance dans le conduit pour etre introduite dans le creuset (8). Lorsque les gaz se trouvant a 800 C traversent la charge (10), ils transmettent leur chaleur a la charge. Si la charge est composee d"oxydes metalliques, on peut obtenir une prereduction considerable dans le conduit (7). En traversant la charge (10), les gaz chauds se refroidissent et sont liberes a des temperatures superieures a 100 C de preference a environ 150 C pour eviter une condensation d"eau dans la charge.
