(EN)Loss of valve opening pressure (VOP) attributed to weat of contacting portions in fuel injection nozzle valves (22) is limited due to provision of a valve tip (38) having a lower portion (38a) which repetitively engages only a lower portion (40a) of a valve seat (40). Advantageous wear of the engaging portions increases the seating area but reduces the effective differential area for fuel pressure to act against, thus reducing the need for increased pressure to open or unseat the valve (22). Increased clearance results in less wear between a reciprocating valve (36) and a cooperating guide (34) which also contributes to reduced (V0P) loss during the life of such nozzle valves (22).
(FR)Une perte de pression de soupape d"ouverture (VOP) attribuee a l"usure des parties de contact dans les valves-gicleurs (22) d"injection de carburant peut etre limitee grace a l"utilisation d"une pointe de soupape (38) possedant une partie inferieure (38a) qui engage de maniere repetitive seulement une partie inferieure (40a) d"un siege de soupape (40). Une usure utile des parties d"engagement augmente la surface de siege mais reduit la surface differentielle effective contre laquelle s"applique la pression du carburant, en reduisant ainsi le besoin d"augmenter la pression de maniere a ouvrir ou faire sortir de son siege la valve (22).
