(EN)A dark-coloured, wave-length selective oxide film on aluminium is prepared thereby that the metal subsequent to a cleaning treatment is submerged into a bath consisting of an aqueous solution having pH 8.9 - 10.9 and at a temperature of from 20 to 100 C under conditions which result in an electrode potential of between -1.1 and -0.6 volt relative to a saturated calomel electrode. The said potential can advantageously be maintained by either addition of H2O2 to the bath or by electric polarization. In a more specific embodiment of the process there is used an aqueous solution of 1-100 g NH4Cl or (NH4)2SOS per liter solution with or without addition of aluminate ions Al02- or Ca++, the pH of the solution, if necessary, being adjusted to pH 9 by addition of NH3, NaOH, KOH, Ca(OH)2 and that the content of silicon, chromium and phosphorus each is maintained under 10 ppm.
(FR)Un film d"oxyde selectif de longueur d"ondes, de couleurs sombres, sur de l"aluminium est prepare par immersion du metal suite a un traitement de nettoyage dans un bain consistant en une solution aqueuse ayant un pH de 8,9-10,9 et a une temperature de 20 a 100 C dans des conditions donnant un potentiel a l"electrode de -1,1 a -0,6 volt par rapport a un electrode de calomel sature. Ce potentiel peut etre maintenu de maniere avantageuse soit par addition de H2O2 dans le bain soit par polarisation electrique. Dans un mode de realisation plus specifique du procede, on utilise une solution aqueuse a 1-100g de NH4Cl ou (NH4)2SO4 par litre de solution avec ou sans addition d"ions d"aluminate AlO2- ou Ca++, le pH de la solution, si necessaire, etant ajuste a 9 par addition de NH3, NaOH, KOH, Ca(OH)2, la teneur en silicium, chrome et phosphore etant chacune d"elles maintenues sous 10 ppm.
