(EN)Two antigenic substances derivable from Streptococcus mutans, and having molecular weights as determined by SDS-PAGE in the range of 146,000 to 155,000 daltons and 175,000 to 195,000 daltons, respectively, are of value for use in vaccines against dental caries. These substances are obtainable from S. mutans in purified form by procedures including anion exchange chromatography followed by gel filtration and affinity chromatography utilizing antibodies raised against the antigenic substance of higher molecular weight and against a third antigenic substance derivable from S. mutans having a molecular weight as determined by SDS-PAGE of 47,000 to 49,000 daltons.
(FR)Deux substances antigenes derivables du Streptococcus mutans et ayant des poids moleculaires determines par SDS-PAGE de l'ordre de 146.000 a 150.000 daltons et 175.000 a 195.000 daltons, respectivement, sont utiles pour etre utilises dans des vaccins contre les caries dentaires. Ces substances peuvent etre obtenues a partir de S. mutans sous forme purifiee par des procedes tels que la chromatographie a echange d'anions suivie de filtration sur gel et chromatographie par affinite utilisant des anticorps developpes contre la substance antigene d'un poids moleculaire plus eleve et contre une troisieme substance antigene derivable du S. mutans ayant un poids moleculaire determine par SDS-PAGE de 47.000 a 49.000 daltons.
