(EN)It has been difficult to provide adequate lubrication for load bearing, engine components when such engines are operating in excess of about 475 C. The present invention is a process for providing a solid lubricant on a load bearing, solid surface (14), such as in an engine (10) being operated at temperatures in excess of about 475 C. The process comprises contacting and maintaining steps. A gas phase (42) is provided which includes at least one component reactable in a temperature dependent reaction to form a solid lubricant. The gas phase is contacted with the load bearing surface. The load bearing surface is maintained at a temperature which causes reaction of the gas phase component and the formation of the solid lubricant. The solid lubricant is formed directly on the load bearing surface. The method is particularly suitable for use with ceramic engines.

La presente realisation est un procede pour l"utilisation d"un lubrificant a l"etat solide sur une surface solide (14) supportant une charge, telle que dans un moteur (10) fonctionnant a une temperature superieure a 475 C. Le procede comprend des etapes de contact et de maintien. Une phase gazeuse (42) est prevue, comprenant au moins un composant pouvant reagir dans une reaction dependant de la temperature pour former un lubrifiant a l"etat solide. La phase gazeuse entre en contact avec la surface supportant la charge. La surface supportant la charge est maintenue a une temperature qui provoque la reaction du composant de la phase gazeuse et la formation du lubrifiant a l"etat solide. Le lubrifiant a l"etat solide se forme directement sur la surface supportant la charge. Ce procede convient particulierement a l"utilisation dans des moteurs thermiques.
