(EN)Composite bipolar electrode (1) for electrolytic cells having drilled anodes (8) and cathodes (11) and wherein the separation (9) (10) of the anolyte and catholyte spaces is tight to liquids and gases. It allows a good contact between anode and cathode and simultaneously a lightweight execution of the partition wall, thus allowing the saving of materials. This is achieved since the partition wall is provided by a thin sheet (10) comprised of a material which withstands the conditions prevailing in the anolyte as well as to those prevailing in the catholyte. This sheet bears against the grid (9), made of expanded metal, for example, which is arranged at the side where the low pressure prevails. The grid (9) is set at regular intervals on the electrode at the high pressure side and is tightened between the anode and the cathode at the contact locations (13) where the current flows, thus resulting in a partition between the anolyte and the catholyte, tight to liquids and gases.

Ceci est atteint par le fait que la paroi de separation est realisee en une feuille mince (10) constituee d"un materiau qui resiste aux conditions regnant dans l"anolyte de la meme maniere qu"a celles regnant dans le catholyte. Cette feuille s"appuie sur une grille (9), en metal deploye par exemple, laquelle est placee du cote ou regne la basse pression. La grille (9) est calee a intervalles reguliers sur l"electrode du cote a haute pression et est serree entre l"anode et la cathode aux endroits de contact (13) ou s"effectue le passage du courant, de telle maniere qu"il en resulte une separation de l"anolyte et du catholyte, etanche aux liquides et aux gaz.
