Title (EN) CONDUIT GRAPPLING ANCHOR
(FR) GRAPPIN DE CONDUITE
Abstract: front page image
(EN)In a conduit grappling anchor comprising two arms (1, 2) hinged about an axis (3) like scissors, two gripping rails (9, 10) parallel to the axis (3) are fixed at the free ends of the arms (1, 2). Each rail comprises at least two jaws (11) which grip the conduit underside (11) and which are provided with gripping elements to increase the gripping capacity by means of a special form or an improved friction. To grip and hold the conduit safely, the jaws (11) are fixed to the rails (9, 10) so as to pivot about axes (12) parallel to the axis (3) of the arms (1, 2). The jaws (11) are kept in an approximate gripping position by a lower stop (13). Furthermore, each jaw (11) is provided with two gripping elements (14, 15) arranged in parallel to the axis (3) on jaws (11) and flattening against the wall of the conduit. One of the gripping elements (14, 15) is located under the pivoting axis (12) of the jaw (11) and the other one above said pivoting axis.
