Abstract: front page image
(EN)A torque-transmitting drive having a driving member (15) and a driven member (14) spaced therefrom with an endless transmission belt (17) engaging the members to transmit torque from the driving member (15) to the driven member (14). The endless belt (17) is folded over one of these members such that two strands (17' and 17'') of this belt pass over the one member (15) and this same one member (15) thereby does not pass through the endless belt (17). A bearing sleeve (18) is further slippingly mounted on this one member (15), over which the endless belt folds such that one strand (17'') of the belt at the fold passes over the bearing sleeve. Thus, one strand (17'') at the belt fold is in driving engagement with the member (15) and the other strand (17') of the endless belt (17) moves in the opposite direction such that the bearing sleeve (18) is rotating in a direction opposite to that of the member (15) over which the belt folds. When replacing belts, it is not necessary to disturb or dismantle the member (15) over which the endless belt (17) folds, as that member (15) does not pass through the belt (17).
