(EN)A controllable current source comprising a choke (1) and a capacitor (2) having equal reactive impedances at the frequency of an alternating-voltage source (3), and a unit for matching and controlling the load current provided as a magnetic amplifier (4). Some of the terminals of the choke (1), of the capacitor (2) and of the primary winding (6, 7) of the magnetic amplifier (4) are connected to the corresponding phases of the alternating-voltage source (3). The others of the terminals of the choke (1), of the capacitor (2) and of the primary winding (6, 7) of the magnetic amplifier (4) are star-connected with each other. The secondary winding (9, 10) of the magnetic amplifier (4) is connected to the load (11). A winding (13) for controlling the magnetic amplifier (4) is connected to a constant-voltage source (14).
