Title (EN) FRICTION PAD GUIDE DEVICE FOR DISC BRAKE
(FR) DISPOSITIF DE GUIDAGE D"UN PATIN DE FROTTEMENT POUR FREIN A DISQUE
Abstract: front page image
(EN)A friction pad guide device for a disc brake, in which the liners (13, 14) of friction pads are bent perpendicularly at both side ends toward the back surface sides to form vertically bent portions (13a, 13b, 14a, 14b), which are slidably engaged with inner vertical guide surfaces (9a, 10a, 11a, 12a) respectively extending elevationally of a torque retainer, and the upper portions of which are bent perpendicularly toward the opposite side directions to form laterally bent portions (13c, 13d, 14c, 14d), which are slidably engaged with the inner lateral guide surfaces (9b, 10b, 11b, 12b), respectively of the torque retainer, thereby slidably suspending the friction pads from the torque retainers. The length (L) of the vertically bent portions (13a, 13b, 14a, 14b) is formed to be greater than the thickness (l) of the liners (13, 14), whereby damage to the guide is prevented by the increased sliding area. If the configuration is such that the guide portion ends at the disc portion, the liners (13, 14) are prevented from dropping from the guide when the friction pads are worn out. Further, it becomes unnecessary to finish the side end surfaces of the disc in the guide after casting the torque retainer.
