Abstract: front page image
(EN)Standard television signals, with an image constituted by two interlaced partial images are stored in a buffer memory (13, 14, 15) and the partial images are treated therein in order to obtain entire images without insertions and with an image frequency higher than that of the standard image signals. These images are extracted from the memory and reproduced on the screen, in order to simplify the circuits, it is necessary that the number of entire images reproduced in a time interval should be equal or greater than the number of partial images received during the same interval and that at the same time the relation between these two numbers should be an entire fraction, that is to say that the numerator and the denominator should be entire numbers and that the value of the fraction lies between 1 and 2. It is also necessary that the sequences of the partial images and the entire images should be timewise arranged in such a way that at least certain of the transition of the entire images overlap repeatedly with the transitions of the partial images.
