(EN)The object of the invention is to provide a system and method for dry quenching coke while simultaneously substantially eliminating pollutants emitted during coke pushing and quenching operations. The method includes pushing the hot coke from a coke oven (7) into a hooded, mobile coke quench car (2), drawing the pollutants, emitted during the push, downwardly through the hot coke by a jet draft inducer (34) to oxidize the pollutants and produce an inert combustion gas. The gas is further drawn through lines (32 and 33) from the bottom portion of the quench car after cooling by heat exchanger (42), the recovered heat being used for supply of hot water to line (40) for use in the jet nozzle, the nozzle also acting o clean the cooled inert gas. The cooled, cleaned inert gas is returned to the hood (12) through a line (48) for further passage through the hot coke.
(FR)Systeme et methode de refroidissement a sec du coke tout en eliminant sensiblement simultanement les polluants emis pendant les operations de chargement et de refroidissement du coke. La methode consiste a charger le coke chaud d"un four a coke (7) dans un vehicule de refroidissement du coke, mobile, a hotte (2), a soutirer les polluants, emis pendant la charge, vers le bas au travers du coke chaud par un inducteur a jet d"air (34) pour oxyder les polluants et produire un gaz de combustion inerte. Le gaz est ensuite soutire par l"intermediaire de canalisations (32 et 33) du fond du vehicule de refroidissement apres refroidissement par un echangeur de chaleur (42), la chaleur recuperee etant utilisee pour l"alimentation d"eau chaude vers la canalisation (40) utilisee dans l"ajutage a jet, l"ajutage servant egalement a nettoyer le gaz inerte refroidi. Le gaz inerte propre refroidi retourne a la hotte (12) par l"intermediaire de la canalisation (48) pour passer a nouveau au travers du coke chaud.
