(EN)The signals corresponding to the cross-section of the wire, respectively the diameter, are presented in a logarithmic form and processed. Thus, given a volume of signals and a resolution precision, each digital word requires less bits and the multiplications of the signal values with adjustable constants and parameters are brought down to less costly additions. Further, the signal analysis and the processing capacity it requires is constantly adapted to the signal evolution and the physiologically motivated precision requirements. To this effect, around the wire are defined a tolerance field and a system of tolerance areas subdivided both in the transversal and longitudinal directions for each of which different analysis or test criteria are set. These criteria are analysed only after the signal has passed above, respectively under, at least one of the boundaries of these areas. Thus, a processing power need results from the signal which is noticeable by persistent need peaks during a short laps of time but which most of the time is weak. The process is appropriate for the electronic rectification of wires.
(FR)Les signaux correspondant a la section transversale du fil, respectivement au diametre, sont presentes sous forme logarithmique et traites. Ainsi en presence d"un volume de signaux et d"une precision de resolution donnes, chaque mot numerique necessite moins debits et les multiplications de valeurs du signal avec des constantes et des parametres reglables se ramenent a des additions moins couteuses. En outre, l"analyse du signal et l"importance du traitement qu"elle requiert est constamment adaptee a l"evolution du signal et aux exigences de precision motivees physiologiquement. A cet effet, autour du fil sont definis un domaine de tolerance et un systeme de zones de tolerance subdivise aussi bien dans le sens transversal que dans celui de la longueur, pour chacun desquels valent des criteres d"analyse differents. Ces criteres ne sont analyses qu"apres que le signal soit passe au-dessus, respectivement en-dessous, d"au moins une des limites des zones. Ainsi il en resulte un besoin en puissance de traitement du signal qui se distingue par des pointes de besoin persistant pendant un court laps de temps mais qui pendant la plupart du temps est faible. Le procede peut etre utilise pour la rectification electronique des fils.
