Abstract

The device is used to produce rapidly dust from minerals for analysis purposes, for example to monitor and control mine workings. The device comprises an ultrasonic mechanical vibration mechanism (1) coupled to a chisel (2) and provided with a dust exhauster (3) to collect the dust produced. The chisel is driven with an ultrasonic vibratory motion which may be, if necessary, transformed into a rotary motion. Only 10 seconds are necessary to produce a sufficient sample of particles from 10 to 100 (Alpha). The dust is sucked into a conduit and collected within a filtering head (7) and assayed. The device may be provided in a portable form, part of which constituting the tool includes the vibration mechanism (1), the chisel (2) and the filtering head (7), the feeding part (9) including the power source (12) the control (11) and the suction pump (14).

Le dispositif est utilise pour produire de facon rapide des poussieres de mineraux a des fins d"analyse, par exemple pour surveiller et commander l"exploitation de mines. Le dispositif comprend un mecanisme (1) a vibrations mecaniques ultrasoniques couple a un ciseau (2) et est equipe d"un aspirateur (3) pour collecter les poussieres produites. Le ciseau est anime d"un mouvement vibratoire ultrasonique qui peut etre si necessaire transforme en mouvement rotatif. Il suffit de 10 sec. pour produire un echantillon suffisant de particules de 10 a 100 (Alpha)m. La poussiere aspiree dans un conduit est recueillie dans une tete filtrante (7) et ensuite analysee. Le dispositif peut etre realise sous forme portative, dont une partie constituant l"outil comprend le mecanisme vibratoire (1), le couteau (2) et la tete filtrante (7), la partie alimentation (9) comprenant la source d"energie (12) la commande (11) et la pompe aspirante (14).
