Abstract

New method for the production of raw iron or so-called metallized iron ore. Biofuels i.e. preferably fuel wood and/or peat is in the final reduction brought into direct contact with the iron containing material in its solid state. Biofuels have very different properties compared to reduction agents on the basis of fossil fuels primarily coal and develop rapidly a reactive reduction gas at a comparatively low temperature. The new raw iron process is carried out with the iron containing material in its solid state of aggregation in different kinds of fluidized bed reactors in different system configurations.

Nouvelle methode de production de fer brut ou minerai de fer metallise. Des biocombustibles, c"est-a-dire de preference du bois combustible et/ou de la tourbe sont amenes en contact direct lors de la reduction finale avec le materiau contenant du fer dans son etat solide. Les biocombustibles possedent des proprietes tres differentes si on les compare aux agents de reduction, en se basant sur des combustibles fossiles, essentiellement du charbon, et developpent tres rapidement un gaz de reduction reactif a une temperature relativement basse. Le nouveau procede de fer brut est utilise avec le materiau contenant du fer dans son etat solide d"agregation dans differents types de reacteurs a lit fluidise avec des systemes differents.
