(EN)A high-voltage composite insulator is substantially comprised of a rod (2) of synthetic material reinforced with fiber glass, screen forming bodies (3) and connection armatures (4). The outer cylindrical surfaces of the rod (2) of synthetic material reinforced with fiber glass are coded with a first layer (5) of silicon rubber and with a second layer (6) of synthetic plastic grease. The screen forming bodies (3) are crimped on said outer layer of the rod (2) of synthetic material. These screen forming bodies are made of polytetrafluoroethylen. They present in the direction of the longitudinal axis thereof smooth cylindrical bores (7). The diameter of these bores (7) is very slightly smaller than the diameter of the rod (2) covered by said layers. The screen forming bodies (3) supported by the synthetic material rod (2) are heated before their mounting and then set on the rod (2). In order to prevent water or dirt from penetrating inside the screen forming bodies (3) threaded onto the synthetic material rod (2), these bodies are preferably assembled by a tongue and groove joint (9a and 9b).
(FR)L"invention concerne un isolateur composite pour haute tension qui est constitue essentiellement par une tige (2) en matiere synthetique armee de fibres de verre, des corps formant ecran (3) et des armatures de raccordement (4). Les surfaces cylindriques exterieures de la tige (2) en matiere synthetique armee de fibres de verre sont entourees d"une premiere couche (5) de caoutchouc de silicone et d"une deuxieme couche (6) de graisse plastique synthetique. Les corps formant ecran (3) sont sertis sur cette couche exterieure de la tige (2) en matiere synthetique. Ces corps formant ecran sont constitues en polytetrafluorethylene. Ils presentent dans le sens de leur axe longitudinal des alesages cylindriques lisses (7). Le diametre de ces alesages (7) est tres legerement inferieur au diametre de la tige (2) recouverte desdites couches. Les corps formant ecran (3) portes par la tige en matiere synthetique (2) sont chauffes avant leur montage puis places sur la tige (2). Afin d"empecher de l"eau ou de la salete de penetrer entre les corps formant ecran (3) enfiles sur la tige (2) en matiere synthetique, ces corps sont de preference relies par un assemblage a rainure et languette (9a et 9b).
