(EN)A power source for electro-erosion with the wire electrode on carving machines comprises series connected sensors (36, 38) of tension and velocity of the rewound wire electrode (6), a unit (37) permitting the switching on the power source unit, a control unit (3), a supply unit (1) with adjustable output voltage, a bank (2) of charge accumulating capacities and a unit (4) of controlled semiconductor switches. The output of the unit (4) of controlled semiconductor switches is connected with the interelectrode gap whereas its second input is connected to the output of a driving oscillator (7). One of the inputs of the driving oscillator (7) is connected to the second output of the control unit (3), the third output of which is connected to the second input of the bank (2) of the charge accumulating capacities. The power source comprises as well a unit (8) for automatic stepped switching of regimes, a continuously variable tracking unit (19), and a unit (30) for emergency drop of the energy released on the cutting length of the wire electrode (6), its input being connected with the interelectrode gap and its output being connected to one of the inputs of the continuously variable tracking unit (19) the second input of which is connected to the cutting length of the wire electrode (6) and is common with the unit (8) of automatic stepped switching of regimes and the output of which is connected to the driving oscillator (7), whereas the output of the unit (8) for automatic stepped switching of regimes is connected to one of the inputs of the control unit (3), the second input of which is connected to the output of the unit (37) permitting the switching on the power source unit which inputs are connected to the sensors (36, 38) of tension and velocity of the rewound wire electrode (6).
