(EN)The modulation device comprises a support (8, 9) coated with a layer made of ZnSe or gold (9). On the layer (9) an oil film (7) is deposited. The image of an object (4) is formed by means of an optical system (2, 3) on the layer (9), the wavelength of the light from the lamp (2) of the optical system is comprised within the absorption range of the layer (9). Consequently, the layer (9) is heated as well as the film (7) corresponding to the image of the object (4). A laser beam (13) emitted by a laser (5) travels through the film (7) and is reflected by the layer (9). When travelling through the film (7) of which the thickness varies as a function of the intensity of the image, the laser beam is phase modulated.
(FR)Le dispositif de modulation comporte un support (8, 9) revetu d"une couche de ZnSe ou d"or (9). Sur la couche (9) est depose un film d"huile (7). L"image d"un objet (4) est formee au moyen d"un systeme optique (2, 3) sur la couche (9), la longueur d"onde de la lumiere de la lampe (2) du systeme optique est situee dans le domaine d"absorption de la couche (9). En consequence, la couche (9) s"echauffe ainsi que le film (7) correspondant a l"image de l"objet (4). Un rayon laser (13) emis par un laser (5) parcourt le film (7) et est reflechi par la couche (9). En parcourant le film (7) dont l"epaisseur varie en fonction de l"intensite de l"image le rayon laser est module en phase.
