(EN)A heat pipe heat exchanger for transmitting heat from a high temperature fluid such as exhaust gas from a boiler, to low temperature fluid, consists of a first passage (13, 14, 15, 16 and 17) through which the high temperature fluid flows, a second passage (18, 19, 20, 21 and 22) through which the low temperature fluid flows, and a rotor (28) having a plurality of heat pipes (8) arranged over both the first and second passages and spaced apart such that the high or low temperature fluid may pass to transmit heat from the high temperature fluid to the low temperature fluid. The rotor (28) incorporates a separating member (9) secured to the rotor for separating the first passage (14, 15 and 16) from the second passage (19, 20 and 21), and is rotatably constructed. This arrangement prevents the uneven distribution of corrosion, thickness reduction and closure at specific portions of the heat pipes, and facilitates maintenance of the heat exchanger.
