Abstract
(EN) In a coal liquefaction process including recycle of a product slurry (14) comprising normally solid dissolved coal and mineral residue, the minimum slurry recycle rate is determined by a pumpability constraint on the solids level of the slurry contained in the feed coal mixing vessel (6). If the solids level in the feed coal mixing vessel (6) rises above the constraint level, the slurry recycle rate must increase. For coals which generate a high mineral residue content, adequate dilution of the slurry in the feed coal mixing vessel requires the slurry recycle rate to rise to an economically impracticable level. In the present process, mechanical operability is improved and enhanced conversion of normally solid dissolved coal is achieved at a given constraint solids level by passing a portion of the liquefaction zone product slurry through a hydroclone (60) with the hydroclone overflow stream (61) constituting a second recycle slurry. Deployment of the second recycle slurry increases the proportion of relatively small more catalytically active particles of mineral residue within the process.
(FR) Dans un procede de liquefaction du charbon comprenant le recyclage d"une boue de produit (14) comprenant du charbon dissous solide, et un residu mineral, le taux de recyclage minimum est determine par la contrainte de pompage due au niveau des solides dans le recipient de melange de l"alimentation en charbon (6). Si le niveau des solides dans le recipient de melange de l"alimentation en charbon depasse le niveau de cette contrainte, le taux de recyclage de la bouillie doit augmenter. Pour des charbons qui engendrent un contenu en residu mineraux eleve, une dilution appropriee de la boue dans le recipient de melange de l"alimentation en charbon implique que le taux de recyclage de la bouillie doit s"elever a un niveau economiquement inacceptable. Dans le present procede, le fonctionnement mecanique est ameliore et une conversion accrue en charbon dissous solide, est accomplie a un niveau donne de contrainte lie au niveau de solides, en faisant passer une partie de la boue de produit de la zone de liquefaction au travers d"un hydroclone (60), et le courant de trop-plein de l"hydroclone (61) constitue une seconde boue de recyclage. Le deploiement de la seconde boue de recyclage augmente la proportion de particules relativement petites de residu mineral plus actives catalytiquement dans le procede.
