(EN)When optimising the conventional purification methods, by gas, of aluminum in a molten state, a negative effect of the temperature has been revealed surprisingly when using a mixture of noble gases and carbon dioxyde. In the same way, it has been proved inadequate to use concentrations of carbon dioxyde higher than 10% in volume. It is therefor proposed to use, at a temperature comprised between 730 and 780 C a gaseous mixture comprised of at least an inert carrier gas and of 4 to 10% in volume of carbon dioxyde in a ratio of 0.4 to 1.0 N m3 per tonne of molten material. The method is also appropriate for continuous and discontinuous operation plants. In the first case an optimum effect of the stay time for the molten particules of three minutes should be provided, whereas a total time of one hour should be provided in the second case. This method allows, supposing a pseudo-l kinetic order, to reach a speed constant of 5.3 for sodium, 4.9 for lithium and 2.5 x 10-4 sec-1 for hydrogen, which makes the quality of the method vary with the composition of the alloy to be purified.
(FR)Lors de l"optimisation des methodes conventionnelles de purification, par gaz, de l"aluminium a l"etat fondu, il a ete constate de maniere surprenante un effet negatif de la temperature lorsqu"on utilise un melange de gaz nobles et de bioxyde de carbone. De meme, il est apparu inopportun d"utiliser des concentrations de bioxyde de carbone superieures a 10%, en volume. Il est donc propose d"utiliser, a une temperature comprise entre 730 et 780 C, un melange gazeux constitue d"au moins un gaz porteur inerte et de 4 a 10% en volume, de bioxyde de carbone en un rapport de 0,4 a 1,0 N m3 par tonne de matiere fondue. La methode s"adapte egalement a des installations en continu et a des installations en discontinu. Dans le premier cas, il est a prevoir un effet optimal du temps de sejour des particules fondues de 3 minutes, dans le deuxieme cas un temps total d"une heure. Cette methode permet, en admettant un pseudo-l ordre cinetique, d"atteindre une constante de vitesse de 5,3 pour le sodium, de 4,9 pour lithium et de 2,5 x 10-4 sec-1 pour l"hydrogene, ce qui fait que la qualite de la methode varie avec la composition de l"alliage a purifier.
