A new chemical substance-macromolecular cristalline polymer with alternate dimethylene and methylsubstituted disilene units in the main chain has a general formula: (FORMULA) where "n" is an integer from 800 to 1000. The method of obtaining the polymer consists in reacting the vapour of 1,2-bis(dimethyl-chlorosilyl)ethane with the vapour of metal sodium and/or potassium at a temperature of 250-380 C and at a vapour pressure of 0,1-10 mm of mercury of 1,2-bis(dimethylchlorosilyl)ethane with the consequent condensation of the vapour of he resulting 1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-1,2-disilicyciclobutane and its polymerization at a temperature of 20-100 oC. One of the variants of the method provides for mass polymerization of the 1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-1,2-disilicyciclobutane at a temperature of 20-100 C.

Une nouvelle substance chimique de polymere cristallin macromoleculaire avec des liaisons alternees de dimethylene et de dicylene substitue avec le methyle dans la chaine principale a la formule generale suivante: (FORMULE) Ou "n" est un nombre entier de 800 a 1000. La methode de production consiste a faire reagir la vapeur de 1,2-10(dimethylechlorosyl) ethane avec la vapeur de sodium et/ou de potassium metallique a une temperature de 250-380 C et a une tension de vapeur de 0,1 a 10 mm de mercure de 1,2-10(dimethylechlorosilyl)ethane produisant la condensation de la vapeur de 1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-1,2-disilicyclobutane resultant de sa polymerisation a une temperature de 20-100 C. Une des variantes de la methode comprend la polymerisation en masse de 1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-1,2-disilicyclobutane a une temperature de 20-100 C.
