Title
(EN) APPARATUS FOR SECURING COUPLINGS OF INTRAVENOUS AND INTRA-ARTERIAL ACCESS SYSTEMS
(FR) DISPOSITIF DE RACCORDEMENT DE SYSTEMES D"ACCES INTRAVEINEUX ET INTRA-ARTERIEL
Abstract
(EN)
This apparatus relates to medical intravenous and intra-arterial fluid access systems, such as catheters, wherein multiple fluid conduit sections are joined to permit fluid flow to or from a vein or artery. The specific improvement relates to means to prevent separation of coupled fluid conduits in a vascular access system. In one embodiment (Fig 2) first (66) and second (68) clip means joined together by a binding platform (50) are provided for affixing to respective ones of fluid connectors (27, 32). Another embodiment (Figs 6, 7) is provided with gripping ribs (116, 118, 120, 122) on clip members (102, 104). In both embodiments, the aforesaid clip means are joined by the platform means so that motion between separable joined conduit means (27, 32) is restrained thereby preventing uncoupling of conduits during a surgical procedure.
(FR)
