(EN)A centering abutment (74) to readily locate the clutch member (30) relative to the side member (14) of the housing (12) of a viscous fluid drive. The side member has an opening (26) for a bearing (28) in which is located an input shaft (24). Lands and grooves (62) are located on the side and clutch member. When substantial radial clearance exists between the housing and the clutch member, problems are encountered in assembling the members. Assembly lime is greatly reduced by providing the centering abutment (74) on one of the members for alignment with a trough (88) in the other member. The length (B) of the abutment is greater than the length (A) of the lands on the member and preferably has an angled outer portion (86) for quick alignment.
