Abstract:
(EN) Engine valve control mechanism (12) for varying the amount of opening and/or timing of a cylinder valve (16) in an internal combustion engine having an overhead cam shaft (24) which actuates the valve (16) via a rocker arm (18) pivotally bridged between the valve stem (16a) and hydraulic lash adjuster (31). In one embodiment the valve gear train portion (14) for each intake valve (16) is provided with a valve control mechanism (12) of the invention by providing a camshaft (24) having a high lift lobe (24c) and two low lift lobes (24a) for actuating the valve (16) and by providing a valve rocker arm (18) including a rigid link (34) defining a first cam follower for following the low lift lobes (24a) and a second cam follower pivotally connected to the rigid link (34) for following the high lift lobe (24c). A latch (46) carried by the rigid link (34) is operative in a first position to prevent pivotal movement of the second follower relative to the rigid link (34), whereby the valve (16) is actuated by the high lift lobe (24c), and operative in a second position to allow such pivotal movement, whereby the valve (16) is actuated by the low lift lobes (24a).
(FR) Mecanisme de commande d"une soupape de moteur (12) qui fait varier l"ouverture et par ou la distribution d"une soupape d"un cylindre (16) dans un moteur a combustion interne ayant un arbre a came en tete (24) qui actionne la soupape (16) via un culbuteur (18) pivotant, en forme de pont entre la tige de soupape (16a) et l"ajusteur de jeu hydraulique (31). Dans un mode de realisation la partie formant harnais de la soupape (14) pour chaque soupape d"admission (16) est pourvue d"un mecanisme de commande de soupape (12) selon l"invention en montant un arbre a came (24) ayant un bossage de levage haut (24c) et deux bossages de levage bas (24a) pour actionner la soupape (16) et en montant un culbuteur de soupape (18) comprenant une tige d"assemblage rigide (34) definissant un premier galet de came pour suivre les bossages de levage bas (24a) et un second galet de came connecte par pivotement a la tige d"assemblage rigide (34) pour suivre le bossage de levage haut (24c). Un enclenchement (46) porte par la tige d"assemblage rigide (34) fonctionne dans une premiere position pour empecher un mouvement de pivotement du second galet de came par rapport a la tige d"assemblage rigide (34), de sorte que la soupape (16) est actionnee par le bossage de levage haut (24c), et fonctionne dans une seconde position pour permettre un tel mouvement de pivotement, de sorte que la soupape (16) soit actionnee par les bossages de levage bas (24a).
